Our birthright laws don't make sense
Regarding Tuesday's Las Vegas Sun story, "More welfare going to parents here illegally": Our government has avoided addressing our antiquated birthright laws for decades, forcing us to support welfare against our will. In reality, a significant percentage of illegal immigrants come here because they know they can have children and avoid deportation because the children are U.S. citizens. And we pay the hospital bills. Our representatives have copped out on changing this ridiculous policy for decades. Children born on U.S. soil should be citizens of the mothers' countries unless the fathers are legal residents or U.S. citizens, as in most other countries.

In Reply to charroruss: Yes, the off springs did need that protection. But you are wrong when you say that black slaves were the only ones who came here against their will. Many, many people were forced by circumstances in their home countries to leave all they knew and try again in the U.S. Many people who arrived here were as good as economic slaves, no one provided them food or shelter and they were vulnerable to violence. And let's not forget that slavery was all over the world at the time and that it was blacks who sold blacks to the whites with their ships to take them away. It's much more complex than you are making it. Finally, all of us have ancestors who were slaves.

Byron, I left my trucker 2 years ago in mid-Sept 2007.

It was a real tragedy. Ed has a severe case of mental illness, a rare disorder, and I left for my own safety as he is extremely suicidal and extremely depressed and potentially dangerous.

It was not his fault nor was it my fault. Someone did this to him when he was a child. There was NO hope for a future together so I left as there was NO point in staying and I could do no more for him and I did not want to turn up murdered someday when he will snap and could hurt himself or somebody else.

I will look you up on the website OK? I love Ed but what to do?

Hope you are ok.

tiredofit is exactly correct. Black slaves were the only people who came to this country against their will. Also, those slaves origin was the continent of Africa, therefore, it was necessary for the 14th amendment to be create to give the off springs of
slaves born in the United States a country of birth which would grant those off springs the full rights and privileges as stated in the Constitution of the United States.

As for the 14th, anyone who's been around this site for a while knows my feelings.

this is one subject that irks me to no end...THEY ARE NOT CITIZENS...the 14th amendment was intended to give citizenship to former slaves. Illegal immigrant scumbags from mexihole or other 3rd world cesspools weren't here when the amendment was enacted. There is case law that sides with us yet most states and the feds ignore it....all the states have to do is refuse to issue a B/C to them...problem solved...no B/C they can't do much at least in theory....

Jack, how are you and Mrs. jack and your lovely family doing? And Byron, long time no hear from you and how are you?

I am doing well. I am currently working for a convenience store Circle K, here in Phoenix, and they are cutting my hours.

My sister had a stem cell transplant 4 years ago to save her life from lymphoma cancer and the quacks that treated her with radiation before that did not protect her head and neck from the radiation and now she has delayed-onset, severe brain damage from the radiation damaging her brain. The quacks that originally treated her cancer bungled the treatment and the cancer came back. That's when they used radiation and chemo.

She has been in the hospital 3 times in the last 6 months. Twice for pneumonia, as a direct result of the radiation damage to her teeth and head and brain, and once recently with a seizure and she is on medication to control the seizure.

The cancer is gone for good, tho...as far as we can tell.

If sis dies I will sue the pants off the quacks who did this to her. They are NOT going to kill my baby sister and get away with this.

It's like alzheimers disease...what she has and she will not get better. It is a real tragedy.

I am suffering with allergies and they are making my life hell. I have a severe allergy to a food additive called monosodium glutamate aka MSG and it is in everything and I almost wound up in the hospital last year because of it.

Oh well. Might have to move out to the desert about 20 miles from the nearest person and grow my own food and cook my food from scratch. We'll see.

Have to go and get ready for work.

Say hi to Mrs. jack for me. What a lovely family you have, jack. God bless you and yours and Byron too.

In Reply to Byron: had a set back in my treatments, so now on to plan B. I am tired of feeling like a lab-rat, what is the other site you were on? Can't find the link. They have changed the meds and I am on another chemo and the latest news is it seems to be working. We are all hanging in there and hope for the best.

I really believe that all the issues besides employment of illegal aliens and supression of crime as a business by illegal aliens are side issues. If labor and immigration laws were inforced, as they were before Jimmy Carter was president, then illegals wouldn't be camped out having offspring. They wouldn't have the means, the community support, the criminal organization, that supports them staying long enough to calve. The churchs should be the first to be prosicuted for conspirasy to facilitate. The Catholic church is a shell of itself after being let off the hook for complicity in the priest sexual abuse scandal now they are criminally supporting illegals. The anchor issue is secondary. Meet the employment issue head on and the rest will take care of itself. Splintering the focus and fighting on multiple fronts gives up the advantage.

they all know how to play the game, and the churches encourage it. Wait until you have been in the hospital for a long period of time it makes you so angry. After my most recent stay, across the hall there a spanish speaking family member going thru treatments they would show up at 7:00 a.m. and leave at 8:00 p.m. One day they had 16 people visiting, screaming little kids and 3 babies. The kids were running up the hall yelling, I finally could not take it anymore and grabbed my I.V. pole and went outside and yelled "shut the Hell up" this brought a response from the nurses who kicked the whole damn bunch out and them limited them to 2 visitors at a time. I was glared at everytime they walked past my room. When my 2 daughters came to see me one afternoon they stopped them in the hallway and said " your father is not a nice man" My 17 year old said her favorite phrase of the day " BITE ME"

I wish someone capable would organize a group to make this a top priority. Having illegal aliens squirting out anchor-jackpots is a huge magnet for more illegal mamas-and-papas-to-be to come here.

In Reply to Gorilla: My senator seems more grounded. He's in favor of putting an end to this practice and is not afraid to air his views. There are too many panty-waists in Congress who are afraid of stepping on toes. Keeping on harping about it, and vote those fools out who refuse to address this issue.
From Gorilla - 31 Oct 2009 @ 03:22 pm
In Reply to cudzuqueen: You and Mr. Henderson are correct. Our elected officials are not willing to address the proplems with 'Illegal Immigrants'. I've written, e-mailed and called my Kansas Senators Brownback and Roberts for the last three years concerning all issues with 'Illegal Immigrants'. If I receive any response, it has been a form letter with no commitment to enforcing the existing immigration laws which includes deportion of 'Illegals'.
