Deportation deferred for student, 23, who didn't know he was undocumented
The Department of Homeland Security has deferred Monday's planned deportation of a 23-year-old Florida honors student who didn't realize until he applied for university that he has been undocumented since he was 3 years old. Walter Lara, who considers himself the "all-American guy next door," came to the United States with his parents 20 years ago. He was supposed to be deported to Argentina, a country he says he knows little about. "As I look to celebrate Independence Day with family and friends this weekend, I have once again seen what makes America the best country in the world. Americans are fair, just, and kind," Lara said in a statement.

Americans are every bit of that, that's why whoever brought him here should be thrown out along with that one in a justifiable way.

Walter, you know now the meaning of undocumented. Thank mom and dad for the predicament your in.

We supported this guy and likely his mom, dad, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, grandpa and grandma for twenty years. Figure-up how many taxpayer dollars Walter and his family owes us, then deport all according to our immigration laws.

If they decided not to deport him they need to do some research and figure out how much taxpayer dollars it cost to support him for the last 20 years (K-12, medical any gov assisstance etc) and make him pay every penny back. He might think Argentina looks pretty good when he sees the price tag usa

In Reply to fredrickson: I think you're right. He has nothing to lose by lying and obviously had a lot to gain.

In Reply to Anonyma: Five will get you ten that he didn't have a drivers license because he knew he was illegal. I am not buying his line of shit.

Well, his parents certainly screwed him. How did they keep this a secret and are they in the process of being deported?
From tiredofit - 02 Jul 2009 @ 03:54 pm
ignorance of the law is NOT a defense....ask any cop when they give you a ticket for a traffic violation or the city cites you for a code violation...

BS...deport him....
