Illegal immigrants? Firms face employee audits
Starting today, South Carolina's largest businesses will be subject to random audits of their employment documents as part of a crackdown on hiring illegal immigrants. The S.C. Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation will focus its attention on businesses that typically hire immigrant workers, said Jim Knight, a department spokesman. "For instance, you can be pretty sure construction and landscaping will be on that list for audits," Knight said. For now, the law, which was passed in 2008, applies to businesses with 100 or more employees and those that do business with state and local governments.

While South Carolina is doing more that forty states, this 100 employees and even I9 checks in general is urinating into the wind. Everybody that understands labor relations today knows that misclassifying workers as subcontractors is how it's done to avoid I9s. It's illegal but neither Bush's labor secretary or Captain Kenya's labor secretary intends to inforce the law which, as they know, enables illegal employers. If all your illegals are off the books then your I9 file will look perfect. Blow your smoke up someone else's bloomers fellows.

In Reply to Anonyma: Again I will say "IF YOU SEE A LOT OF MEXICANS AT A JOB SITE PULL BY SLOW AND TAKE PICTURES. YOU REALLY DON'T EVEN HAVE TO HAVE FILM IN THE CAMERA. THE BEANERS WILL FREAK AND I MEAN FREAK" take my word for it. You can also call in to the ten most wanted and say you think you might have seen one of them at this job site. The FBI will be there fast fast fast. You can but don't .I wouldn't want you to get in trouble. wink wink wink, I think that is why god invented pay phones.

Yes. That would be a very large landscaping company.

We need an organization dedicated to ending anchorbaby citizenship. For these parasites will wash back in as part of the immigrant chaining if we don't.

However, not too many landscape employers have 100 employees. Lower that number some. Also, I'm sure a very small part of those contract out with state or local governments. Meaning even though that may sound good, other than a scare tactic it may not work.
