Supreme Court seeks White House views on hiring illegals
WASHINGTON -- The Obama administration will enter the politically tricky immigration arena, courtesy of the Supreme Court. On Monday, the court asked the administration for its views in a challenge to an Arizona law that punishes companies for hiring illegal aliens. Other states with large immigrant populations will watch the next steps closely, because their own laws and ballot measures could be on the line. "This case involves a question of exceptional national importance: whether state legislatures and municipal governments may override Congress' judgment concerning United States immigration policy," attorney Carter Phillips wrote in a legal brief.

One phrase I liked, "Profits from illegal labor led to the kind of corruption that apparently worried Eisenhower." And look at the corruption that is blatantly present today because the government has allowed this situation to get out of control. Our government is now an enemy and traitor of the American people and puts the illegals first in line for everything.

"The Arizona governor who signed the state law was Janet Napolitano , who now serves the Obama administration as the secretary of the Department of Homeland Security ."

They will probably leave it up to her to repeal the law she signed. krazy

In Reply to Anonyma: The Supreme Court is the third branch of our government that was set up by our founding fathers to interpret our Constitution.

We all know what Obama's views are on 'Illegal Immigrants' - "open the border gates for cheap labor and cheap votes".

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce wants their member companies to hire cheap labor before hiring the American workers.

THIS WILL BE A DIRECT TEST OF SOVEREIGNTY OF THE STATE OF ARIZONA - WE, THE CITIZENS OF ARIZONA, VOTED THIS INTO LAW. IT WAS HIGHLY CONTESTED AND ARGUED, WITH NON-CITIZENS CRYING FOUL THE WHOLE TIME. NOW WE HEAR THIS SO-CALLED "COURT" IS QUESTIONING OUR RIGHTS - BAD MOVE. ARIZONA WAS THROWN UNDER THE PREVERBIAL BUS BY THIS TRAITOROUS GOVT. BY REFUSING TO PROTECT IT'S CITIZENRY, AND NOW THEY WANT TO QUESTION OUR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS? NOTHING GOOD CAN COME OF THIS.... NOTHING.

What? Have I been asleep? Do you know the name/number of this decision?

Where's the bug-eyed emoticon?

-Look for Obama to talk tough about illegal immigration and enforcement of employment laws, then do everything he can to undermine our current laws and enable illegals. They're counting on the pro-illegal enablers and the latin vote for the next election. -As he placates the other side, I'm sure he'll have something bad to say about sherrif Joe, and paint Lou Dobbs as a racist (nothing could be further from the truth.) They fear Dobbs because he actually talks sensibly about illegal immigration. -Don't forget, it was the Supreme Court that decided this year, that it is NOT a crime for an illegal to steal your Social Security Number for work...no matter how many exemptions he may claim w/it. -It's only a crime if he uses it for financial fraud such as credit card default.
-Don't expect much, don't believe what they say...there is not enough pressure on them to protect our country...hopefully there will be soon.

This maybe a chance for the Supremes to give the White House a heads up. Perhaps they are leaning towards upholding state rights and are warning the White House about their meddling. Of course it could be another secret meeting to screw the American public all over again. I wonder if any of these bozos are even half aware of how close this country is to civil war. The Supreme Court ruling that states don't have the right to write and enforce their own immigration laws maybe the spark that blows this country to pieces.

From Anonyma - 02 Nov 2009 @ 10:32 pm
