Smith: Illegal immigrants ‘create problem’
A lifelong resident of Albertville says he wants to see the city reclaim its place as the "Heart of Sand Mountain." "Albertville's my home. This is where I've always lived," said Doug Smith, a candidate for the Place 4 City Council seat. Smith, 65, thinks he knows why Albertville has lost its luster... "A lot of people don't want to mention it, but I'm going to come back to the illegal (immigrants)," he said. "I think this is creating a big problem for the city of Albertville right now.

"(Smith: We’ve got to have tax revenue. It’s got to be coming in if you’re going to do anything. That’s what supports the city and that’s what keeps it going. Without the tax revenue, you’re not going to be able to do a whole lot.)"

And they tell us how much we need those here who have invaded. So just like the state of California this town is in deep hurt. Yea, they really are helping the economy, SURE they are, NOT!!!!! krazy

I applaud him for his honesty and hope he gets elected. The Ratino illegals supporters will be after him.

Albertville is on the way to Boaz, AL. It's a really neat resort town, that would make any outdoorsman smile. My husband and I had even considered retiring there...that's not an option now, especially if these nasty illegals are turning the place upside down.
