WASHINGTON - It was supposed to be a relatively quiet Friday, with no votes and most senators heading back to their home states. But Sen. Jeff Sessions' office felt like a war room. The Alabama Republican was marshaling his resources from the last immigration reform battle, which he won, and ramping up for a new fight, this one over a section on farmworkers that a Senate committee added Thursday evening to the bill paying for the Iraq war. "There were no hearings on it and nobody had any idea that this was about to happen," Sessions said from his Capitol Hill office.

Thank you Senator Sessions. He has saved our bacon about seven times I know of. I hope the people of Alabama like him as much as we do.

In Reply to slopchops: I have and continue to watch for new faxes. I also compose my own letters and email them to my reps...so far, Roger Wicker seems to be the best of the lot. He doesn't respond with the usual canned responses and seems to be totally in tune with those of us who oppose the crap that is going on these days.

Sheriff accepting donations to fight illegal immigration May 16th, 2008 @ 2:35pm by JW Cox, KTAR Web
There sheriff made news when he set up an illegal immigration hotline. Now he's set up another one to help fund his efforts to fight it.
Earlier this week, the governor cut money more than $1 million from the sheriff's budget to fund a statewide task force to hunt fugitives.
Arpaio said residents and people from out of state called to donate their own money to fund his fight against illegal immigration. "We're receiving emails and calls from people that just were angry and just wanted to know how they can help."
He said donations can be made out to MCSO Donation Fund and must be earmarked for illegal immigration.
Checks should be mailed to 100 West Washington, Ste. 1900, Phoenix, Ariz., 85003
KTAR-FM host Larry Gaydos hosted a radio-thon "Pennies for the Posse" on Wednesday night to raise money for the sheriff's effort to fight illegal immigration.

Jeff Sessions is one of the very few that should be re-elected to that cesspool of a Senate. I don't agree with the temp worker deal, though and Dianne Feinswine is a sorry sack of shit for her endless campaign to import illegal aliens. I'm just waiting for her and ol Wide Stance Craig to get killed by illegals. That would really be funny.
