| Nearly 40 people were taken into custody for immigration violations in Phoenix this week, as announced by the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement team on Friday. During the operation, ICE officers said they arrested 21 people for ignoring final orders of deportation or returning to the country without the proper paperwork. A total of 39 people were taken into custody. "ICE is committed to restoring integrity to this country's immigration system and that means ensuring that the removal orders handed down by the nation's immigration courts are carried out," said Katrina S. Kane, field office director for ICE detention and removal operations in Phoenix, in a press release. |
