Hazleton mayor named Pa.'s Mayor of the Year
HAZLETON, Pa. (AP) -- The mayor of Hazleton, Pa., who drew nationwide attention for his crackdown on illegal immigration, has been named the state's Mayor of the Year. Pennsylvania State Mayors Association gave Lou Barletta the honor Saturday. Group officials cited his illegal immigrant crackdown and his hands-on method of combating crime. In 2006, the Hazleton City Council had approved a law that would deny business permits to companies that employ illegal immigrants, fine landlords who rent to them and require tenants to register and pay for a rental permit.

In Reply to cudzuqueen: Who was that guy "world wide traveller" or something like that? Came in here and was going to overhaul our forum in one easy swipe. Self proclaimed genius type. Spotted this guy in a second. Must have got run out of a whole bunch of forums to show up back here.

As I was putting together this media bias report I saw someone I know. That someone made me chuckle a little. If I would have realized this in advance you can be assured that my speech would have been a little different. For it turns out that the organizer of the Unity rally is none other than Dr. Agapito Lopez. HP0-D03 Now for those who don't know (and if you haven't been watching this issue in depth since at least 2006, which cuts out a lot of bloggers even), Dr. Agapito Lopez was one of the most outspoken activists against Hazleton, Pennsylvania's Illegal Immigration Relief act, 642-456 was actually a plaintiff in the lawsuit against Hazleton and Mayor Lou Barletta and actively formed rallies against the ordinance. He's not a newcomer to this issue and he's been spreading his racist speech out there for a long time. Dr Agapito Lopez - 70-648 an eye doctor by trade - was none other than the very first witness called in the Hazleton trial on day one by the plaintiff's attorney of the ACLU.

In Reply to cudzuqueen: I agree! I think this move is an excuse to get people used to seeing military on the streets. My sister lives in West Chicago. (They now call it West Chicano). She said she saw a policeman stop a woman riding her bicycle on the sidewalk, the other day. She said, it didn't matter that traffic was horrendous and construction was going on. I can see why the police are sooo bogged down, (sarcasm).

In Reply to tickedoffchic: Here's the thing...criminals don't register their guns. So in effect, Stupid Daley will be taking guns from registered, law-abiding citizens. what is that going to achieve? He will be leaving his constituents open to all sorts of crime, to which they will have no way to defend themselves. What a great guy. He needs to wipe out the gangs, and get his police force off the take. He needs to leave law-abiding citizens alone.

In Reply to TiredAmerican: I don't know if you already listen to this, but here's a radio show that has a lot of good guests, economists, politicians, ex-politicians, ex-military, authors, and Constitutional movement leaders.
Click on "Listen Live", then "radio show". The radio show tab will drop down to "Listen on the Internet." He has the news days, weeks, months ahead of the MSM reporting it, IF they ever do.

In Reply to TiredAmerican: Thanks! I'm just sick about this situation. Did you know the gov. and mayor of Chicago have announced they want to put the National Guard on the streets to confiscate guns? There are probably MANY guns that NEED to be confiscated, in Chicago, being the sanctuary city that it is, but, this looks very suspicious, to me.

Are you ready for this, guys? Georgians say FEMA is stacking up millions of plastic caskets in areas of their state. I've heard they're also doing it in TX and WY.
